Text-based PDFs are already compact. This tool's biggest savings come from image-heavy or scanned pages, since it re-encodes each page as a compressed image.
Will I lose text selection and searchability?
Yes — the output is image-based, so text can no longer be selected, searched, or copied. If you need to keep text editable, skip compression or keep the original alongside the compressed copy.
What quality setting should I use?
70% is a good starting point for most documents. Drop to 40–50% for maximum size reduction, or stay above 80% if the PDF contains detailed images.
